Milo Bloom Seriously noisy post-punk/hardcore that bullets through influences and genres so fast that there may be a risk of fire. Very unique and well composed songs, and not a single weak track. This is a fantastic debut, and I’m looking forward to what comes next. Favorite track: This Time Tomorrow.

1.
Arms length for the one who yearns for you. Patience wanes as the candle fades. Reach out for another hand to hold. Both ends burning by your disdain. Out, out - Brief candle. Cold hearts - Still beating. Out, out - Brief candle. Cold hearts - within. You could have it all if you’d only take it. Say you have to feel it just to embrace it. If you’d only take it. Reject the love and never embrace it. Out, out - Brief candle. Cold hearts - Still beating. Out, out - Brief candle. Cold hearts - within. Arms length for the one who yearns for you. Patience wanes as the candle fades. Reach out for another hand to hold. Both ends burning by your disdain. Out, out - Brief candle. Cold hearts - Still beating. Out, out - Brief candle. Ratnest 02:08
March on, soles worn paper thin. Recite the mantra by memory. Ignore the stark lack of symmetry. Sing on and echo the battle hymn. You’ll get exactly what you ask for. Prey on and ye shall receive. Feed on the tail wrapped around you. Dig in, embracing the ratnest. Ignore your will to survive. Choke down the poison in front of you. Bite down, clenched jaws holding tight. Eyes closed, swinging before the fight. Bell rung, your song sung - out of tune. You’ll get exactly what you ask for. Prey on and ye shall receive. Feed on the tail wrapped around you. Dig in, embracing the ratnest. Ignore your will to survive. Onward. Onward, treading hate-blind soldiers - marching as to war. Never see behind the veil of who you’re fighting for. You’ll find that your penance is not what was paid for. And see your resistance dissolving into war. You’ll find that your penance is not what was paid for.
3.
Raise your hands and close your eyes. Bow your head, sing to deify. Call, Repeat. Fall to your knees. Change the meaning like the pharisees. We’ll settle on horizons, with blinders holding fast. This hymnal’s getting dusty, the binding never cracked. Pull them in, and pass the plate. Give the tithe, or force to abdicate. Call, Repeat. Fall to your knees. Change narratives to fit your disease. We’ll settle on horizons, with blinders holding fast. This hymnal’s getting dusty, the binding never cracked. Keep the hook but change the meaning, the kids will never know Why their god will never show. Lift it up.
4.
You’ll save your own when the heat is rising. With a tale too old grown long from proselytizing. To fear what’s known and replace your learning. Make tight your fold of your converting. Salt the earth. All we know is all we’ve sown. Let it grow. Salt the earth with seasoning from communal tables. Burnt bridges pave the way for those who enable. A growing plume of smoke rising from your home. A final glance to show you’re looking for more of the same. Salt the earth with seasoning from communal tables. Burnt bridges pave the way for those who enable. Salt the earth. All we know is all we’ve sown. Let it grow.
5.
Not Waving 03:17
Salt water stained lips, and they’re cracking at the sight of sun; Parting slowly as if to plead. Your driftwood splinters, makeshift lifeboat come undone. Sinking with everything that I need. A flicker of light, dropping as my numbness fades. Empty lungs just dragging all down. You’ll carry on, you’ll carry on. Lift your tide to spite the sea. Just keep in mind that your anchor is tied to me. So carry on, just carry on. Raise your sails and set it free. This drowning hand isn’t waving but begging for thee.
6.
Sunday drive; billboards screaming “hell is real”. An echo chamber to back up what you feel. Love thy neighbor, berate thy hostess. It doesn’t count if they don’t deserve your 20 percent. One hand washes the other side when neither one is clean to start. Tone deaf apostles, naive disciples. This little light of mine, I’m going to keep it mine. Love thy neighbor, berate thy hostess. Just gave your tithe so you can’t spare another cent. One hand washes the other side when neither one is clean to start. Tone deaf apostles, naive disciples. This little light of mine, I’m going to keep it mine. I’m going to keep it mine.
7.
The fear is low and the water’s rising. The air we breathe - becoming toxic. With every sigh you make, with every gasp you fake; drowning here - your skin is caustic. Regrets last longer than your name. Rewrite the script to hold us in place. Your discontentment always lingers in the air; a hope that one can never attain. Lying here, our light is fading A final space to write your own name. Regrets last longer than your name. Rewrite the script to hold us in place. Your discontentment always lingers in the air; a hope that one can never attain. With every sigh you make, with every gasp you fake - hold it in. It’s the last that you’ll take.

9.
The light escapes our eyes and burns the weak. Ways too set to help with sharpened teeth. Gnaw your meal, all the bones, and the beak. A soul for the box, nothing is free. This knowledge will come with time. Our youth is wasting on the young. These hands - no longer mine. I’ll do it again and again. The palest of hair turned upon its head. Undermined the tales we’ve always said. To protect a spoon that has been fed and spit on the ground in your floral deathbed. This knowledge will come with time. Our youth is wasting on the young. These hands - no longer mine. I’ll do it again. Steady as ever. Balanced on the nose. The only songs we know are trading poetry for prose. Poetry for prose. Steady. Balanced on the nose. The only songs we know are writhing and fading. Grow shorter and shorter until your words fall straight off. You’ll get used to it with time. I swear to god you’ll be alright. You’re steady as ever. I’ll trade your poetry for prose.
10.
Revisionist 04:27
You sing for revolution; turning blind eyes on your past. Say you’ll be there at the front line. The parting line will be your last. Blend in to your surroundings; echo back the last refrain. When it’s time to take to the streets - finding words are left in vain. If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for every word you say.
11.
Breathe in. Breathe out. Feel this like it’s burned into your skin. I’ll claw my eyes out if I have to see you one more time. Rip out my veins just to feel my pulse. Never wanted any of this. Always dressed to unimpress. I never stopped to look around. Lost the forest for an artificial tree. I’ll claw my eyes out if I have to see you one more time. Rip out my veins just to feel my pulse. I’m getting closer. to where we said we’d be. I’m getting closer to where we said we’d be. I’ll claw my eyes out if I have to see you one more time. Rip out my veins just to feel my pulse.
12.
As I wait by the riverside the bodies of my enemies float by. Lost touch. Lose sight. Lose hope. Don’t waste your breath on me. For as I live and breathe - snakes in the grass at their apogee. Swing low, chariot. Sing deep. Carry through & drag us on. Look in. Let go. Feel your death by a thousand cuts. Don’t waste your breath on me. For as I live and breathe - snakes in the grass at their apogee. As I wait by the riverside.
13.
Turned pages and unturned phrases said. Not the nuance that we felt. The red and black and gray, no time for shade between these lines. And I know this time tomorrow we'll be bleeding out. Dissociate your role. Leave room for gnashing teeth behind our closed and bitter lips. And I know this time tomorrow we'll be bleeding. And I know this time tomorrow we’ll be bleeding out.

about

On their full-length debut, Midnight Society, Chicago, IL's death pose tear through 13 incendiary tracks of down-tuned punk/post-hardcore influenced noise rock replete with indelible hooks, sharp angular riffage, and a rhythm section that resonates with urgency. The album was produced by Jeff Dean (Alkaline Trio, Braid, The Story So Far, Samiam) at The Echo Mill and mastered by Alan Douches (Converge, Every Time I Die, Thrice, Mastodon, Dillinger Escape Plan) at West West Side.

Dark lyrical themes of personal dissociation, political action, religious intolerance, heartbreak, and the human experience are woven throughout, adding a layer of realism and responsibility to their discord. We live out our deaths each and every day in the modern world and death pose provide an exquisite soundtrack for such dystopian times.
